A Day in the Life on 4938 Fairfield Circle
As posted on our Greenway Gardens neighborhood watch message board this morning:
This may sound a bit strange, but my husband Tom left for work at about 6am this morning, and saw a large (duck-sized) bird with long tail feathers on our roof. Has anyone else seen this bird, or is anyone missing a pet peacock?
We are hoping to solve this mystery,
Carrie and Tom Suchman
4938 Fairfield Circle
The replies:
--I saw it as well and last night about 5 45 there was a bird catcher looking for it. I don't know how to contact him
--I also saw it at around 7 am this morning and took a picture of it! I will try to post it. How odd! Does anyone know what it is?
--Was it carrying a large blow up lawn tiger? ;)
--LOL No, it was just hanging out solo....I did post a picture too. Sorry the file is so large!
I also emailed a note to the Memphis contingent of the FFT:
This bird is loose in my neighborhood!!!!!
Is it a pheasant?
C
The replies:
Artee: did you take that photo? make sure little joey is safe.
Pam: I don't know what kind it is but it's pretty.
Thomas: Wow. That's an exotic pheasant. I'd call the zoo.
Sarah Cate: Maybe you could call the news. Get some Team 3 Coverage on this.
Kevin Schwarz: I recommend stuffing with lemons and onions, rubbing the skin with olive oil and lots of salt and pepper. Roast at 450F for 25 min then turn heat down for an additional 1 hour roasting time. Serve with mashed potatoes and oven roasted brussel sprouts. Yum!!!
Brent: Can you eat it?
I just couldn't let something this bizarre go by without immortalizing it in a blog post.

MY PRACTICE
For those of you that do not know, I am up and running. I have 6 appointments scheduled for next week. I have a wonderful employee. And I just wanted to thank you guys for all your support. I really couldn't have done it without your encouragement.
Friends and Family Night will be on a Friday night in the near future. Then in late September/Early October will be the Professional Open House and Grand Opening (no, I am not renting an inflatable slide to put in the parking lot).
Hope you can make it to one of them!!!
LOVE, ARTEE

Pulling a Darrin
While at the theater for the movie Wanted this weekend I saw a preview for a new Mummy movie. I was intrigued because I enjoyed those flicks; however, my intrigue turned to confusion because I did not see Rachel Weisz and her character's husband was kissing on some lady. Later research showed that she did not want to be in the new movie so, rather than write her death or absence into the movie, they just put this other woman in as her character. How do we feel about that? I thought this was just done on soap operas or on The Fresh Prince. Before I decide how I feel I wanted to solicit the opinion of others.

File Under: Bizarre
So, many of you know about my "Counterfeit Crochet" Dior that I made, oh, a few years ago. I think I have sent out email updates about how it has traveled in an art exhibit to Manila, Istanbul, etc.. But, until today it didn't really hit home until I saw the photos.
Seeing your picture tacked up on the wall in Istanbul next to a "thing" that you created is a weird experience. Please visit the new website and see for yourself: Counterfeit Crochet Website.
I am the blonde in the green shirt and brown skirt with the tan Dior. I also made the pink Chanel that you see photos of-- I gave it to my Mom for Mother's Day a couple years ago, so it did not travel abroad.
Love,
Carrie,
Your International Crochet Superstar
